Put To The Test

It was simply a matter of being in the right place at the right time. I had the ability and resources to fill an immediate need that presented itself. I was no hero, but I knew that it wasn’t a complete accident that I was the person there in the moment. And I was wise enough to know that it had nothing to do with me personally, just that The Lord desired me to be His vessel.

When we are faced with a moment of decision, will we step up and step out when The Lord needs us to act in love?

Deuteronomy 13:3, you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams. For the Lord your God is testing you, to know whether you love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

Little moments like these are building blocks in the transformation of our spirit. And they aren’t little at all to a great big God. When Christ is shaping our character, we often go through various tests and trials. In my experience, it is often through trials that the strength of the Spirit within me is tested. For our character to be transformed, we must go through these tests and trials in order to become a testament of Christ and His great power in our life. It is these tests that separate us from the world. We must rely upon the Holy Spirit to help us stand strong, seek wisdom in a situation, step up when called, and step out in faith in order to fulfill His greatest commandments: love the Lord with all our heart, our soul, and all our mind, and love our neighbours as ourselves.

Father, as we move forward in our day, may we not take for granted the Spirit in which you have gifted us, but rely upon your Spirit to help us be a gift to others. Amen.
